Nursing Metaparadigm The nursing metaparadigm is essential when looking into the nursing theory. The nursing theory is composed of four parts, nursing, person, health, and environment. Each of these four parts are key when it comes down to patient care. The metaparadigm is the framework to nursing and it explains it in the simplest of aspects. Nursing and how the nurse cares for people. Person, or who it is that you are caring for. The health of the patient. Lastly the environment that the patient is in. The metaparadigm is only the basics of what nursing is about. Nursing Nursing is a profession that you have to be dedicated to in order for you and recovering patients to have positive outcomes. Some very important concepts regarding nursing involve, critical thinking, professional values, therapeutic techniques/therapeutic relationships, patient-centered care, evidence-based practice and ethics. Nursing first started with Florence Nightingale. Nightingale was a bedside nurse who cared for hurt soldiers. She showed true values of a caring nurse, but nursing has definitely evolved as time has gone on. She pledged to nursing.
